I can’t say that I didn’t see the results of the Presidential Election coming nor did Secretary Hilary Clinton. However, I will say that I was surprised to learn that some people took the Presidential Election as a joke. I was surprised to learn that some folks refused to vote (I heard approximately 3-4 million registered democrats). I was surprised to learn that some chose a negative vote instead of a proactive vote in light of the issues throughout our society. And I was surprised that some people didn’t bossup, but instead chose to waste their vote by putting down any name instead of choosing one of the two candidates who were eligible to receive Electoral College votes.
As a dreamer, I wish the world I lived in wouldn’t judge a woman because of her husband, or fail to listen to her because she was a woman or hold her hostage to something that was beyond her control. But so many did.
Despite the fizzle of Emailgate, Clinton couldn’t win back the double point lead she had before the boys got together and conspired to play politics as usual wherein winners take all. Unfortunately, when women play politics as usual, she is deemed as a liar, cheater, dishonest and “nasty.” Even when we go high when they go low, there is no guarantee that we will win…. especially if women are vying for the most powerful position in the world. But it’s not over.
Boss Up!
While Cheryl Woods says, “Play Time Is Over, I’d like to inspire, motivate and empower you to Boss Up so that we get better results. In my world as a former child of the ghetto who lived in foster care, basements and shelters for abused women, I learned that people who proactively went after their dreams, lived like bosses. They had bigger income, bigger influence and bigger impact throughout their community. Accordingly, I chose to be like those on top by being proactive about getting better results.
Get Boss!
I encourage you to do the same too. I encourage you to bossup your life to ensure that you aren’t pigeonholed into the “Pink Ghetto,” you know the places the boys refuse to go. I encourage you to bossup your voice matter in the churches, schools, courtrooms and boardrooms. I encourage you to bossup your finances to ensure that you and your family achieve better results. I encourage you to bossup your votes to ensure that the blood, sweat, tears and lives of those who came before us weren’t shed in vain. And most importantly, I encourage you to bossup your faith to ensure that pieces of heaven are manifested throughout your lifetime here on earth.
Just know, you are only confined by the walls you build. So cheers to “making America Great again”–by any legal means necessary–as one nation under God with liberties and justice for all
